Vietnam's top leader Lam to meet Google, Meta in US next week ...
According to reports, Vietnam's president and ruling Communist Party chief, To Lam, is scheduled to meet representatives from several US corporations, including Google and Meta, during an upcoming visit to the United States next week.
Meta's Facebook has a significant user base in Vietnam, with one of its largest user bases worldwide. Google, on the other hand, manufactures its smartphones in Vietnam through suppliers and also plans to establish a large data center in the country.
Meetings with Google and Meta
Lam, who was appointed as the head of the party in early August, will be making his first trip to the United States. During his visit, he is set to meet with representatives from Google and Meta separately. The agenda of the meetings has not been disclosed.

Additionally, Lam will also be attending a business forum on September 23, where he will engage with other US business representatives, further strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.
Importance of US-Vietnam Business Relations
US companies view Vietnam as a key manufacturing hub and a lucrative market for their products and services. Several top US corporations, including Apple suppliers, Intel, Boeing, Mastercard, and Amazon, have been actively engaged in business missions and activities in Vietnam.
The relationship between the US and Vietnam has been growing stronger, with a focus on reducing reliance on Chinese manufacturing and exploring collaborations in sensitive industries such as undersea cables.

Potential Meetings with US Officials
While details of Lam's trip have not been officially announced, speculations suggest that he may also meet with US President Joe Biden during his visit. The US government has been keen on strengthening ties with Vietnam and fostering partnerships in various sectors.

Despite the growing diplomatic relations between the two countries, official comments from the White House, Vietnam's foreign ministry, and the president's office are yet to confirm any scheduled meetings.
Lam's upcoming visits to the United States, Cuba, and France signify Vietnam's commitment to bolstering international relations and exploring new opportunities for economic growth and cooperation.
