Meet Madelyn Schneider: The Journey of UNF's Editor-in-Chief

Madelyn Schneider is Spinnaker's current editor-in-chief. She is a sophomore majoring in English and minoring in mass communication at the University of North Florida. Madelyn began her work for Spinnaker as its news editor in the spring of 2024. Although she's still undecided on the path she'll choose after graduating, Madelyn knows whatever she ends up doing will involve a lot of what she loves most: writing. The University of North Florida faculty union filed a class action grievance against the university on Friday, alleging that UNF violated the union’s agreements on post-tenure review guidelines.

In a recent development, all classes and on-campus activities have been canceled for Thursday and Friday, according to a UNF campus alert sent out at 4:52 p.m. The University plans to resume normal operations soon.

One upcoming event is the Voces y Caras exhibit at the University of North Florida Art Gallery. This immersive exhibit will showcase Hispanic voices and faces in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Last Tuesday, the University of North Florida's Student Government announced that comedian Kenan Thompson will be performing at an on-campus comedy show. Additionally, students shared their experiences during a choir tour of Finland, Latvia, and Estonia.

Parking permit sales have begun for UNF students, with tips from the Director of Business and Parking Services on campus parking. The Osprey Connector shuttle service app will be replaced by the TransLoc app.
