Elon Musk Warns Of "Unacceptable" Risk Of Apple/OpenAI Integration

Elon Musk has threatened to ban the use of all Apple devices at his companies if the tech giant goes ahead with a partnership with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT and other technologies into iPhones and other Apple products. Musk stated, "If Apple integrates OpenAI at the OS level, then Apple devices will be banned at my companies. That is an unacceptable security violation." He further added that visitors will be required to check their Apple devices at the door for storage in a Faraday cage.

Musk criticized Apple's decision, questioning their ability to ensure security and privacy when integrating OpenAI. He expressed concerns over Apple's lack of control once data is handed over to OpenAI, stating that they are compromising user security.

Musk's Lawsuit Against OpenAI

Earlier this year, Musk, a co-founder of OpenAI, filed a lawsuit against the company and its CEO, Sam Altman, alleging breaches of contractual agreements dating back to its establishment in 2015. He accused OpenAI of prioritizing profits over the advancement of artificial intelligence for the betterment of humanity. Musk proposed dropping the lawsuit if OpenAI agrees to change its name to "ClosedAI."

At Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference, the company announced the integration of ChatGPT-4o with Siri and other applications like Notes and Mail. Apple emphasized the personalization and privacy protection features of the new technology.
