Meta AI on WhatsApp may soon be able to reply and edit photos sent by users
WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new update that will allow Meta AI to reply to photos sent by users and even edit them. This new feature was discovered by WABetainfo in the WhatsApp Beta version 2.24.14.20 and is expected to be rolled out to the stable build soon.
Chat Button for Sharing Pictures with Meta AI
According to reports, WhatsApp is currently testing a new chat button that will enable users to share their images directly with Meta AI. Once the images are sent to the chatbot, users will have the option to ask it to identify specific objects in the pictures or provide context. Additionally, users can also request Meta AI to make edits to the images by sending a text prompt.
AI Generated Images Feature
Previously, WABetainfo had hinted at another upcoming feature on WhatsApp that would enable users to receive AI-generated images of themselves by sharing their photos with Meta AI. Users will be prompted to send a single set of photos for analysis to ensure that the generated images accurately represent their appearance. They will also have the freedom to delete these images at any time through Meta AI settings.
Meta AI is expected to activate the AI generator when users type 'Imagine me' in the conversation. Alternatively, users can trigger this feature in other chats by typing '@Meta AI imagine me'. It's important to note that Meta AI will only process the image and not read any other messages in the conversation.
While this new feature is likely to be optional, users will need to opt in before they can start using it.
