WhatsApp Adds Meta AI Feature to Edit Photos
Earlier this year, WhatsApp introduced Meta AI, an AI chatbot tool based on the Llama 3 model. Meta AI has been continuously improved by Meta to enhance user experience. Recently, a beta update revealed Meta AI's presence in the Attachments section, allowing users to create and share their images within chats. Now, Meta is experimenting with Meta AI's capability to edit photos and provide insights about them.
Enhanced Meta AI Abilities
According to WABetaInfo, the latest WhatsApp beta update for Android version 2.24.14.20 significantly enhances Meta AI's functionality. This update equips the AI bot with the ability to reply to and edit photos. Previously, Meta AI struggled to recognize and comprehend images. With this update, the AI tool can now interpret, respond to, and edit user photos.
Users on the specified Android beta version are greeted with a pop-up notification introducing Meta AI's newfound photo editing capabilities. This development indicates that the AI tool can now gather information from images, retain editing instructions, and apply them in subsequent interactions with Meta AI.

Upcoming Features
Aside from photo editing, WhatsApp is testing various features expected to be incorporated into the stable app version soon. One notable addition is Meta AI's ability to generate a personalized avatar by analyzing multiple user photos. This avatar can then be set as the user's profile picture, enhancing customization options.

Additionally, WhatsApp will introduce a new feature called Video Note mode, enabling users to quickly send short videos. This feature caters to individuals seeking an alternative to traditional video recording, producing circular videos similar to Instagram Notes' format.
