WhatsApp has introduced a new feature called Playback Speed for videos, allowing users to manage the speed at which they watch videos. This feature gives users control over the playback speed with three different speed levels.

WhatsApp users can now adjust the playback speed of videos they watch, providing them with the flexibility to customize their viewing experience. The feature was recently discovered on WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.24.26.20.
When watching a video, users can easily access the speed control feature located next to the video progress bar. This convenient placement ensures that users can quickly adjust the playback speed to their preference while watching videos.
By tapping on the speed control button, users can switch between three playback speed levels - Normal, 1.5x, and 2.0x. This allows users to choose the playback speed that best suits their needs, making it easier to consume content efficiently.
Enhancing Viewing Experience
For instance, users watching tutorial videos or lengthy presentations may find it beneficial to increase the speed to 1.5x or 2.0x, helping them save time while grasping essential information. Additionally, the playback speed feature proves useful for videos with slower progress, making the viewing experience more engaging and efficient.
This feature ensures that users can adapt the playback speed based on the type of video they are watching, enhancing their overall viewing experience.
Currently, this new ability to manage the playback speed of videos is available to some beta testers on Android devices.
