Meta has announced that the latest addition to its smart glasses lineup, the Ray-Ban Meta, is set to launch in India soon. Developed in partnership with EssilorLuxottica, a leading eyewear company, these glasses integrate Meta AI technology with a stylish design, offering a unique fusion of innovation and fashion.
Enhancements to Live Translation and Messaging
Meta is introducing several upgrades to the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, notably in the areas of live language translation and messaging capabilities. Users will now have access to a more comprehensive live translation feature, enabling real-time interpretation of various languages directly through the glasses.
According to Meta, this feature eliminates the need for Wi-Fi or network connectivity, provided users have pre-downloaded the necessary language packs. Whether navigating a foreign country or bridging a language gap with a loved one, seamless conversations can now be facilitated in English, French, Italian, and Spanish.
The introduction of live translation was initially rolled out last December and is now being extended to all Ray-Ban Meta customers. While translation accuracy may be influenced by external factors, Meta assures users of the quality and reliability of the service.
Furthermore, Meta has integrated Instagram Direct Messaging functionality into the smart glasses, enabling users to send and receive messages, audio calls, and video calls through Instagram directly on the device. Users can also share images using the Instagram app integrated into the glasses, streamlining communication across multiple platforms.
With the ability to make calls and send messages through popular apps like WhatsApp and Messenger, as well as native messaging apps on iOS and Android devices, the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses offer a seamless communication experience. By simply activating the device with the voice command "Hey Meta," users can initiate various communication tasks, ensuring connectivity on the go.
