Known for her ability to connect with audiences, Winfrey described herself as “the surrogate viewer” who delves into topics that pique her curiosity, knowing that she is not alone in seeking answers.
First Encounter with AI
Despite her vast experience, Oprah Winfrey's first interaction with AI occurred during a conversation with Sam Altman, the CEO of Open AI, the creator of the AI-based virtual assistant ChatGPT.
Reflecting on her initial experience, Winfrey recounted requesting AirBnb listings for a friend through the ChatGPT app and being amazed by the swift and accurate responses she received.
She described the experience as "miraculous" and marveled at the speed with which the AI processed and provided information.
The Future of AI
In the upcoming ABC primetime special, AI and the Future of Us, Oprah Winfrey delves into the profound impact of AI on daily life, aiming to demystify the technology and empower viewers to navigate the evolving AI landscape.
The special is set to premiere on Thursday, Sept. 12 on ABC at 8 pm E.T. and will be available for streaming on Hulu the following day.
