Meta has recently launched the Llama 3 herd of foundation Language Models, marking its largest model to date. These models boast a context window of 128K tokens and are accessible to users in the US through WhatsApp. Noteworthy is Facebook's own testing, which has shown that Llama 3 performs comparably to GPT-4 across various tasks.
Additionally, Facebook has made Llama 3 publicly available, including pre-training and post-training versions of the 405B parameter language model, along with the Llama Guard 3 model designed for secure input and output. Llama 3 sets itself apart by integrating image, video, and speech capabilities, though the models are not yet released as they are still in the development phase.
Expanding Capabilities
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has expressed a dedication to open-sourcing Meta's extensive AI models, offering benefits to both Meta and developers alike. The Llama 3 herd now supports eight additional languages, emphasizing future-forward capabilities like synthetic data generation and model distillation.
For the first time, Meta is introducing its substantial language model with native language support to Latin America. Alongside this, a range of new Llama creative tools has been unveiled, with the latest Llama 3 models catering to complex math and coding queries.
Enhanced Features
The Meta AI landscape continues to evolve with the introduction of new tools for exploration, research, and creative inspiration. Users can access Meta AI across various platforms, including WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and Facebook, with support for both Hindi and Hindi-Romanized Script in the latest update.
One innovative feature within Meta AI is the 'Imagine Me' prompt, enabling users to generate artwork depicting themselves as a superhero, rockstar, or professional athlete. This feature, initially rolling out in the US, allows users to easily share the generated images with friends and family directly from the apps where they were created.
