AI calculator can predict when you'll die – and it's scarily accurate ...
Scientists have created an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot known as Life2vec that has the ability to forecast an individual's time of death with an impressive 78% accuracy rate. But that's not all – this AI innovation, Life2vec, is also capable of estimating the amount of money you will have at the time of your demise.

How Does It Work?
The model, developed by researchers in Denmark and the US, was fed data from Danish health and demographic records for six million individuals. Similar to ChatGPT, Life2vec was trained to anticipate future events based on preceding information.
However, unlike ChatGPT, Life2vec utilizes details such as income, occupation, and medical history to predict an individual's lifespan rather than generating poetry.
Factors Determining Life Expectancy
Previous studies have already identified various factors that can influence lifespan. Being male, a smoker, or having poor mental health can lead to shorter lives, while higher income and holding a leadership position can result in a longer life.
Each of these factors is assigned a code in the Danish dataset, which the research team transformed into words. This allowed the AI to summarize people's lives in data-rich sentences, including details on profession, income, injuries, and pregnancy history.

For example, the AI could generate sentences like 'In September 2012, Francisco received twenty thousand Danish kroner as a guard at a castle in Elsinore' or 'During her third year at secondary boarding school, Hermione followed five elective classes' based on the input data.
Predicting Lifespan
Similar to ChatGPT and Google’s Bard, Life2vec assembles these words into a cohesive narrative to determine an individual's projected lifespan.
During testing on individuals aged 35 to 65, half of whom passed away between 2016 and 2020, Life2vec demonstrated an impressive predictive accuracy of 78% in determining who would die and who would survive. It also outperformed specialized models in predicting personality test outcomes.
Limitations and Ethical Considerations

Despite its success, Life2vec is not currently available for public use. The research team emphasized that the model's accuracy may vary for individuals outside of Denmark and cautioned against its potential misuse by corporations.
While technology like Life2vec raises ethical concerns, it also presents opportunities for researchers to explore factors influencing life outcomes and develop personalized interventions.
