Founded in 2023, Le Chat has quickly gained recognition, despite not achieving the same level of commercial success as industry giants like OpenAI or Deepseek. This French AI company is supported by Microsoft and was established by three French AI experts, one of whom previously worked at Google DeepMind.
According to the report, Le Chat sets itself apart by its minimal data collection practices and strict limitations on data sharing compared to its competitors. While Le Chat may lack the financial resources and extensive testing data of OpenAI, it is steadily gaining traction. Users have been particularly impressed by its prompt responses, although it may struggle with more complex inquiries.
Privacy Rankings
Among the popular chatbots, ChatGPT closely follows Le Chat in terms of privacy rankings. While Le Chat shares user prompts only with service providers, OpenAI extends this to affiliates as well. OpenAI stands out for its transparency in data privacy and minimal data collection practices.
On the other end of the spectrum, Meta ranked as the least private AI chatbot, with Gemini and Copilot following closely behind. Deepseek secured the 6th position, while Claude claimed the 4th spot.

Grok and Claude by Anthropic also scored impressively in privacy tests, positioning them as high-performing AI chatbot options currently available. The report's findings shed light on the data-sharing practices and privacy policies of different chatbots, placing emphasis on clarity and user protection.
