Apple has released the first developer beta for iOS 18.2, offering users a glimpse of the upcoming Apple Intelligence features set to be launched to the wider public. iPhone users have eagerly awaited this update as it introduces a range of new features including Genmoji, Image Playground, ChatGPT integration for Siri, Visual Intelligence, advanced writing tools, and more.
Apple Intelligence Features in iOS 18.2 Developer Beta
The iOS 18.2 developer beta brings new AI features to Apple users. One of the highlights is the Image Playground app, which allows users to generate images using Apple's AI model. Users can create images based on conversations in the messages app or notes. While the current output is cartoonish, Apple provides suggestions for costumes, items, and locations.
Another new addition is the Genmoji feature, which uses AI to create custom emojis that are integrated into the emoji keyboard. Users can even create emojis of their contacts by accessing data from the People album in the Photos app.
One of the standout features of the update is Image Wand, which enables iPad users to transform rough sketches in the Notes app into detailed images using text prompts.
Apple has also integrated ChatGPT into Siri, allowing the virtual assistant to seek assistance from OpenAI's chatbot when needed. Users will have control over their requests being sent to ChatGPT, with IP addresses masked for privacy. While signing in to a ChatGPT account is not mandatory for Apple users, those with a paid subscription can do so for additional features.
It is worth noting that the latest iOS update does not require users to sign in to ChatGPT but offers the option for those interested in advanced functionalities.
