Two cryptic chatbots have popped up over LMSYS in the last 24 hours, causing speculation that Google is just around the corner from releasing their latest and greatest large language models. The performance, formatting, and the enigmatic background of these chatbots have raised a challenging controversy which feels like many suppose if Google is that moderator who got this Name for us clues.
There are several indications that point towards Google being closely related to Eureka. The first sign of the company's foray into video is a tweet from Google employee Logan Kilpatrick: "I just had a small eureka moment. On top of that, Eureka Labs also appears to be related back to Google - it was founded by former Apple AI researcher Andrej Karpathy. This is also backed up by the fact that Eureka has a presence on LMSYS Arena, which says it tests AIs against one another. In addition, some users are seeing "gemini-test-1" and "gemini-test-2" in the model descriptions dropdown hinting two maybe checkout type models of Eureka under testing.
