Google launches Gemini Live audio chat to all users for free!
Google has announced that the Gemini Live audio chat option is now available for free to all Android users. This new functionality allows for natural, back-and-forth conversations with the AI assistant, similar to ChatGPT's voice chat features.
Gemini Live was released just a month after its initial debut at Google's Pixel 9 launch event. Initially, it was only available to subscribers on the Gemini Advanced tier, but now Google has made it accessible to all Android users.

How to use Gemini Live
To access the new voice chat option, Android users simply need to select the waveform icon located in the bottom right corner of the Gemini app or overlay. This will activate the microphone, allowing users to ask queries verbally. Once activated, Gemini Live switches to full-screen mode, with "Hold" and "End" buttons at the bottom.

One of the standout features of Gemini Live is its conversational nature, allowing users to interrupt the AI assistant with additional information or commands. Users can also customize the assistant's voice options to better suit their preferences.
Future developments
Currently, Gemini Live only supports the English language, but Google has assured users that additional language support will be added in the future. The feature will eventually be made available for iOS users as well.
Although Gemini Live does not yet integrate with Gemini Extensions, which provide access to other Google services like Gmail and YouTube Music, this functionality is expected to be implemented in the coming months.
