On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, Chinese tech giant Alibaba has unveiled its latest artificial intelligence (AI) model, Qwen 2.5 Max. This upgraded version of Qwen 2.5, released in September 2024, boasts significant enhancements, particularly in the scale of tokens used for training. With over 20 trillion tokens in its training set, Qwen 2.5 Max surpasses other AI models such as DeepSeek-V3, OpenAI’s GPT-4o, and Meta’s Llama-3.1-405B.
According to an official announcement on Alibaba Cloud’s WeChat account, Qwen 2.5 Max has showcased superior performance across various benchmark platforms. This launch comes at a time of heightened competition in the AI industry, notably with the emergence of DeepSeek, an open-source AI model from China that has garnered global recognition for its collaborative development approach.
