Google’s AI video generator, Veo 3, is now accessible to users in 71 additional countries shortly after its original launch. The news was shared by Josh Woodward, Vice President of Gemini at Google, through a post on X (formerly Twitter). Although many regions have gained entry to the tool, countries within the European Union have yet to be included in this expansion.

Expanding Reach

Responding to an inquiry from an X user regarding India's absence from the initial list of countries, Woodward expressed, “Working to enable India as fast as we can!”. Veo 3 is not limited to generating visuals from text but can also sync them with natural-sounding audio. Early users have already begun sharing impressive demo clips online, illustrating how Veo 3 accurately responds to both simple and intricate requests.

Gemini Pro Subscription Benefits

Users subscribed to the Gemini Pro plan will receive a complimentary trial comprising ten video generations through the web version of Gemini. On the other hand, those on the higher-tier Ultra subscription, priced at $249.99 (roughly Rs 21,200) per month, will enjoy full access, daily generation limits, and a specialized Flow mode. The Flow feature is specifically designed for video creators and provides 125 monthly generations for Ultra subscribers, while Pro members retain their ten allocations. Despite the extensive rollout, Veo 3 is currently exclusive to the web and only supports English audio output. Additionally, when users upload their images in Flow mode, voice output is currently unavailable.

Challenges Ahead

Nevertheless, along with its potential, Veo 3 also raises concerns about potential misuse. The newfound ease with which users can craft convincing fake interviews, protest footage, or even fabricated news segments underscores the escalating difficulty of verifying visual content online.
