Anthropic, a notable player in the field of artificial intelligence, has recently introduced its latest AI model called "Claude 4." This new product line includes two distinct models: "Claude Opus 4" and "Claude Sonnet 4," each offering unique features and capabilities.
Features of Claude Opus 4
According to reports from Reuters and other international media outlets, Claude Opus 4 is described as the world's leading coding model with exceptional performance in handling complex and long-running tasks. Anthropic claims that Opus 4 can autonomously generate computer code for extended periods, significantly surpassing its predecessors. The model is capable of autonomous coding tasks for up to 7 hours and can even play Pokémon games continuously for 24 hours, showcasing its advanced capabilities in coding and automation.
Mike Krieger, the head of Anthropic products, stated, "Claude Opus 4 represents a significant milestone in our journey towards developing highly autonomous AI systems."
Enhancements in Claude Sonnet 4
In addition to Opus 4, Anthropic also introduced Claude Sonnet 4, which offers improved coding, mathematical, and instructional implementation capabilities compared to its predecessor, Sonnet 3.7. The latest benchmark evaluations indicate notable improvements in coding proficiency, with Opus 4 scoring 72.5% and Sonnet 3 scoring 72.7%, a significant increase from the previous 62.3% recorded by Sonnet 3.7. These scores also surpass those of other prominent AI models like Gemini 2.5 Pro, OpenAI o3, and GPT-4.
In a separate benchmark evaluation (Terminal-bench), Opus 4 achieved a score of 43.2%, while Sonnet 4 scored 35.5%, further solidifying their position as top performers in the AI industry.
Focus on Vibe Coding
Anthropic's emphasis on vibe coding, a cutting-edge development methodology that involves collaborative coding with AI using natural language, is evident with the widespread adoption of Sonnet 3.7 in this domain. As vibe coding gains prominence in the industry, Anthropic is positioning itself as a key player in advancing this innovative approach to software development.
Notably, Opus 4 is available exclusively in paid plans such as Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise, while Sonnet 4 is accessible to free users. The pricing for Opus 4 is set at $15 (approximately 21,000 won), whereas Sonnet 4 is priced at $3 (about 4,200 won) based on the input million token.
