VN could earn more dollars from AI qualified workforce: experts
AI is not just an emerging technology, but it has quickly become one of the most attractive fields. Vo Xuan Hoai, deputy director of the National Innovation Center (NIC), stated that the world’s tech giants such as Nvidia, Microsoft, Google, and Meta all consider AI as the strategic leading-edge industry in the future. This has created a high demand for an AI workforce, especially in the chip designing, education, and healthcare sectors.
Increasing Demand for AI Workforce
Commenting about the demand for AI workforce, Vo Xuan Hoai mentioned that in the last two years, tech giants worldwide have been looking towards Vietnam for workers, intellectuals, and engineers with excellent AI application capabilities. 
The interest in AI workforce by these tech giants has notably increased in recent years. However, Dang Minh Tuan, head of the CMC Technology Application Institute, pointed out that the Vietnamese potential AI market is lacking high-quality workforce.
National AI Development Strategy
In 2021, the Prime Minister of Vietnam launched the national AI development strategy by 2030, emphasizing workforce development and the establishment of national innovation centers, training, and research incubators in AI. The strategy clearly indicates that Vietnam is aware of the importance of developing its AI workforce and has been actively making efforts towards it.
Training and Education in AI Sector
To address the growing demand for AI workforce, efforts are being made to establish AI faculties at universities in Vietnam. The focus is on providing specialized training in AI to meet the market requirements. 
The cooperation between institutions like the National Innovation Center and technology giants such as Google and Qualcomm to provide online AI training with international standards is a significant step towards enhancing the quality of AI workforce in Vietnam.
According to experts, 
the establishment of AI faculties at universities will help in producing more specialized AI professionals. This move is crucial for the development of AI human resources in Vietnam and aims at meeting both domestic and international needs in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
