Google announced early access for the Ask Photos feature and Virtual Try-On tool update
Google has introduced new AI-powered features for Photos, including an improved search function and the Gemini-powered "Ask Photos" feature for US users. Google also updated its virtual try-on tool to include dresses, enhancing photo organization and online shopping experiences.
Ask Photos Feature
Google has announced an early access preview in Google Labs of the new Gemini-powered Ask Photos feature for users based in the US. With Ask Photos, users can ask Gemini questions that leverage the assistant's understanding of their photo galleries to uncover details about memories and other information locked in users' photo galleries. Users can inquire about trip details, places visited, foods tried, and more. Gemini can also help with tasks such as selecting the best photos for shared albums or summarizing memorable events from a vacation. Early access to the feature has been rolled out for select US users.
Virtual Try-On Tool Update
Following the success of Google's virtual try-on tool, the company has added dresses to the AI-powered shopping feature. Google faced challenges in generating high-quality, detailed, and realistic images of users wearing dresses due to the complexity of dress styles and the need to preserve the details of the person wearing them. To address this, Google developed the VTO-UNet Diffusion Transformer (VTO-UDiT) technique. This update allows users to virtually try on dresses from various labels online.
