Gemini subscribers can now use 2.0 Experimental Advanced model
Google has recently announced that Gemini Advanced customers can now access the new 2.0 Experimental Advanced model. This model, known as "2.0 Experimental Advanced," is available for selection on desktop and mobile web platforms, but not on the app. Referred to as "Gemini-Exp-1206," Google claims that this model offers enhanced performance for complex tasks such as coding, mathematics, reasoning, and instruction following.
Improved Performance for Various Tasks
The "2.0 Experimental Advanced" model allows for easier handling of complex tasks, making it suitable for activities like tackling coding challenges, solving mathematical problems, or providing detailed instructions for crafting business plans.
However, as this model is still in its early preview stage, Google cautions that it may not function as expected. Additionally, it lacks access to real-time information and may not be compatible with certain Gemini features while in its experimental phase.
Currently, Gemini-Exp-1206 holds the top position on the Chatbot Arena LLM Leaderboard.
Future Updates and Availability
So far, Gemini Advanced has granted subscribers access to the 1.0 Ultra and 1.5 Pro models. It is speculated that Gemini-Exp-1206 could be the 2.0 Pro model or even higher. Google has hinted at the release of more Gemini 2.0 model sizes in January, coinciding with the general availability of 2.0 Flash for developers.
To enjoy these advanced features, users are required to have the Gemini Advanced subscription, which is included in the $19.99 per month Google One AI Premium package.
