ESPELKAMP - Nov. 13, 2024 - Discover the Next Evolution in Digital Engineering with Siemens and HARTING, powered by Microsoft. HARTING and Siemens are excited to showcase together with Microsoft the transformative power of Generative AI in design engineering and sales at SPS and electronica.
Generative Engineering 2.0
The Generative Engineering demo illustrates how future connectors can be generated from scratch. Utilizing cutting-edge algorithms from Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, latest developments from HARTING’s innovation center and a continuous utilization of Siemens Xcelerator. This significantly reduce engineering times, streamlines the design process, and minimize errors. All tools seamlessly integrate to intelligently optimize engineering solutions, allowing engineers to focus on creativity and strategic problem-solving.
An interactive engineering design companion, powered by Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service and HARTING connectivity AI as the cognitive core, enables engineers to dynamically interact with the system. They can query specific questions related to the connector domain to understand design intent and make real-time adjustments to an initial 2D connector layout, which can be interactively improved by Azure Open AI. Subsequently, Siemens NX generates a holistic 3D CAD model suitable for the given application. Further simulations including Siemens Simcenter, considering materials, ambient temperature, and other critical factors, are automatically Simulated in the collaborative Metaverse world to ensure the design's functionality, with results delivered in a rapid 30-60 seconds.
This highly modular system allows individual functions to be triggered independently, moving away from a sequential process towards a more flexible and personalized approach.
AI-guided HAN Configurator
The AI-guided HAN Configurator is a fully technical, productive large-scale solution that will be deployed on HARTING’s website soon. This solution represents a significant leap forward in connector configuration. With HARTING's expertise and Microsoft Azure OpenAI, customers can chat with HARTING's existing connector catalogue based on their individual requirements. Customers can find existing products much faster by adding natural language input and answering guided questions.
Using Microsoft Azure OpenAI, it navigates through intricate requests, intelligently offering existing connectors that ensure optimal configurations for a customer’s specific needs. This soon-to-be-productive solution showcases how Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service dramatically streamlines the configuration process, significantly reducing customers’ decision times.
AI-supported cable to PCB connector configurator
The AI-supported cable to PCB configurator enables users to develop customized application-specific connectors and device connections using simple voice input. Following the AI-supported configuration of existing modular components for cable-to-cable connectors, the customized design of universal contact containers for data, signal and power connections from the cable to the PCB offers a completely new engineering service.
Clearance and creepage distances, contact arrangements and routing layouts no longer have to be created and calculated manually. This offers enormous acceleration potential for the entire development process and makes life easier for device developers. Generative Engineering 2.0 is a further development based on the HARTING PushPull connectors.
Visitors can discover these ground-breaking innovations at SPS and electronica - at SPS at the Siemens stand in Hall 11 or at electronica at the HARTING stand in Hall A, Stand 103. The experts are looking forward to exciting discussions and to demonstrating to all interested parties how generative AI is revolutionizing the digital design and sales landscape.
