Key Features of ChatGPT

According to Cook, ChatGPT will be integrated with Siri, allowing users to receive ChatGPT answers directly in response to queries and prompts. Additionally, ChatGPT will be available as part of Apple's system-wide Writing Tools feature, enabling users to create text and images effortlessly. OpenAI's advanced GPT-4o model will power ChatGPT on Apple's platforms.

Availability and Requirements

Although Apple Intelligence features have begun testing with developers in the iOS 18.1 beta, ChatGPT integration is not yet available. To utilize Apple Intelligence features, users will need an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max, or a Mac or iPad with an M1 chip or newer. These devices must have the language set to U.S. English, with additional language support expected to roll out over the coming year.

The full suite of Apple Intelligence features, including ChatGPT, is anticipated to be released to the public around March 2025 with the launch of iOS 18.4. These features will provide users with text summarization, notification prioritization, custom emoji and image generation, and more enhancements. A smarter Siri experience is also in the pipeline, featuring improved language understanding and personalized contextual awareness.
