Sister Sam Altman files lawsuit against him for sexual abuse, Open...
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's sister, Annie Altman, has filed a lawsuit against him for sexually assaulting her. Previously, Annie, 30, has made public allegations against her brothers Sam, 39, and Jack Altman, 34. She has accused them of sexual and physical abuse, as well as shadow-banning her from the internet and disrupting her Wi-Fi and internet accounts to hack.
Family Statement
In a statement shared on Tuesday (Jan. 7), Sam was joined by brothers Jack and Max Altman and their mother, Connie Gibstine, in a joint statement dismissing the allegations in Annie's lawsuit. They mentioned that they have done everything possible to support her, despite her struggles with mental health.
They detailed their efforts to support Annie, which included providing monthly financial support, paying her bills directly, paying her rent, helping her find work, offering medical help, and even considering buying her a house through a trust. Annie also receives monthly financial support from the late father's estate.
Continued Demands
Despite the support provided, Annie continues to demand more money from the family. Her claims against the family, especially Sam, have continued to evolve over time. The family chose not to respond publicly to protect her privacy but have now been compelled to address the legal action she has taken.
Annie's claims have ranged from accusations of improper withholding of their father's 401k money to allegations of Wi-Fi hacking and being shadowbanned from various websites. The most serious accusation is of sexual abuse by Sam when she was a child. The family expressed that her claims have evolved drastically over time, including new allegations of incidents when Sam was over 18.
Support and Compassion
In their statement, the brothers and their mother requested understanding and compassion from the public as they aim to continue supporting Annie as best they can. They hope that she finds the stability and peace she has been seeking.
