Northwestern students can now access ChatGPT for free. NU football fell to No. 23 Indiana 41-24 in its Big Ten home opener. Faculty members have had sessions to learn about platforms like ChatGPT and how they can use them in classrooms.
Northwestern students, faculty, and staff now have access to ChatGPT through Microsoft's Copilot. Professors have concerns about academic integrity but also see the potential for AI to enhance learning experiences.
Student Response to Generative AI
Fall 2023 surveys found that the majority of students at Northwestern use AI occasionally or once a month. Students are excited about the integration of generative AI into their classes as it has become prevalent.
Rudy Arora, a student at Northwestern, founded TurboLearn AI, a startup that has reached half a million users. The tool helps students with notes, flashcards, and quizzes, making it easier to follow along in lectures.
Football Loss to Indiana
No. 23 Indiana defeated Northwestern 41-24 in the conference home opener. Northwestern's offense showed promise against a strong Indiana team, but the defense struggled to keep up. If the team can put together a complete game with both offense and defense firing on all cylinders, they could turn the season around.
