ChatGPT Dominates as Top In-Demand Workplace Skill: Udemy

The rise of innovation has created the need for professionals to update their skills continuously. The Online learning platform Udemy has recently released its Q1 Workplace Learning Index, which found ChatGPT to be the most in-demand workplace skill worldwide, followed by other emerging topics in artificial intelligence and machine learning.

The quarterly report analyzed data from nearly 14,000 global customers to highlight the skills that professionals are seeking to keep pace with innovation. The report found that courses on ChatGPT grew by 4,419% globally, making it the most in-demand skill in the US and the world. In the US, ChatGPT interest grew by a staggering 5,226% compared to Q4 2022.

Udemy added nearly 470 new ChatGPT courses to its platform this quarter, garnering over 420,000 enrollments as of March 31. The platform's business learners are especially focused on using ChatGPT for copywriting support to help boost SEO, idea generation to enhance visual presentations, and large-scale email creation to improve productivity.

Other emerging topics in AI and machine learning highlighted in the report include Azure Machine Learning with a global surge in interest of 281%, AI Art Generation with 239%, Amazon EMR with 227%, and Midjourney with 218%. Additionally, data-related industry certifications were also a focus for learners worldwide, with courses on Databricks Data Engineer Associate certification growing by 320%.

The report further revealed that cybersecurity certification courses saw a 280% increase in demand among government organizations. Udemy's Senior VP of Supply Strategy, Scott Rogers, stated that "The skills required for professionals continue to rapidly shift, so it's critical that leaders provide the training resources needed to keep up with advancements such as those related to artificial intelligence - to benefit both the employee and the company's ability to get important projects done."

The President of Udemy Business, Stephanie Stapleton Sudbury, added that "Organizations that encourage ongoing learning and provide flexible skill development opportunities can help attract and engage top talent, increase productivity, and achieve greater business outcomes."
