Mark Zuckerberg says AI will write most of Meta's AI code by 2026

At the recent LlamaCon, Meta's inaugural AI developer conference, Zuckerberg engaged in a conversation with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella regarding the extent to which AI contributes to coding efforts. Nadella revealed that around 20 to 30% of Microsoft's code is currently generated by AI software. While Zuckerberg did not provide a specific percentage for Meta, he expressed the company's goal of having AI complete half of its development tasks by the following year.

Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, mentioned during Alphabet's earnings call that more than a quarter of Google's code is now generated by AI. Meta recently introduced Meta AI, a standalone AI assistant app powered by its latest large language model, Llama 4. This app aims to offer users a more personalized experience and is accessible for free on both Google Play and Apple App Stores. Unlike other Meta-owned platforms like WhatsApp and Instagram, Meta AI is specifically designed for AI interactions. It supports various functionalities such as text and audio conversations, image generation, and web search capabilities.
