Toys 'R' Us Debuts the First Sora AI Commercial | Entertainment News
Toys 'R' Us recently unveiled its first commercial utilizing OpenAI’s innovative video-to-text program, Sora. However, the reaction from the online community has been less than enthusiastic. The iconic toy retailer, which shuttered all of its stores in 2018, staged a partial comeback in 2022 by launching more than 400 outlets within Macy’s locations nationwide.

In an attempt to recapture its former prominence, Toys 'R' Us decided to create a cost-effective advertisement employing Sora AI. While a small contingent of fans commended the initiative, the vast majority of social media users expressed dismay, labeling the commercial as a "fever dream" and "uncanny." One individual even remarked on the eerie appearance of the characters, while another, perhaps hailing from the film industry, jokingly reassured that human employment is secure for the time being.
