India becomes largest market for Meta AI usage: Meta Founder and CEO
During the Q2 earnings call with analysts, Meta Founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, announced that India has emerged as the largest market for artificial intelligence (AI) usage within the company. This growth is particularly evident on WhatsApp, with encouraging signs of retention and engagement coinciding with this milestone.
Meta AI Expansion
The AI assistant, Meta AI, has expanded its reach by being now available in seven new languages, including Hindi. This development marks a significant step forward in making the AI assistant more accessible and intelligent. In addition to Hindi, Meta AI can now be interacted with in languages such as French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish across various platforms like WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and Facebook. More languages are set to be added in the near future, enhancing the user experience globally.
Enhancements and Features
Following a successful Q2 revenue of $39.1 billion, a 22% increase year-on-year, Meta CEO highlighted the continuous improvements in Meta AI. Users now have access to Meta AI in over 20 countries and eight languages, with new features like Imagine Edit being rolled out in the US. Imagine Edit allows users to edit images generated with Meta AI, enhancing creativity and personalization.
Moreover, Zuckerberg emphasized the growth of the Threads community and the ongoing development of content recommendation systems to deepen user engagement. Meta AI is positioned to become one of the most widely used AI assistants by the end of the year, reflecting Meta's vision of enabling users to create their own AI experiences. The recent launch of AI Studio further empowers individuals to create custom AIs for interaction across Meta's suite of apps.
