Surviving in the Age of Remote Work: The ChatGPT Solution

How ChatGPT and Similar Tools are Making Remote Work Easier

Remote work has become normalized in the pandemic era, and managing remote workers has become a new challenge for employers. Reports have emerged that many remote workers are now working multiple jobs, and tools like ChatGPT are making it much easier for them to perform multiple tasks without having to put in extra hours.

A survey by the job site Monster earlier this year found that 37% of respondents said they had more than one full-time job, which became easier with remote work. ChatGPT and other artificial intelligence (AI) tools are making it easier to do more than one job, and in some cases, three or four jobs. Some remote workers have stated that these AI tools have enabled them to do multiple jobs and still have time left to spare. The Vice report stated that it spoke to various workers holding two to four full-time jobs with help from AI tools.

ChatGPT can complete various tasks faster than humans, and it is not clear how many remote workers are taking advantage of this AI tool to work multiple jobs. Still, it is evident that the use of ChatGPT and similar tools can dramatically reduce the time needed to complete tasks, and this has made it easier for remote workers to take on more jobs.

Last month, Ethan Mollick, a management professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, tested several generative AI tools, including ChatGPT and MidJourney, to complete a business project. He found that the results were “superhuman,” and it took AI tools only 30 minutes to complete a task that would have required days of work for humans.

Remote workers’ managers often care mostly about tasks getting done by a specific deadline and do not closely monitor activities. This has made it easy for remote workers to use AI tools to complete tasks quicker without a higher risk of being caught. This has led to an increase in the number of remote workers working multiple jobs while using AI tools like ChatGPT.

Eventually, companies and investors will adjust to the new reality of AI tools making some tasks far easier to accomplish, and perhaps not requiring a full-time worker to accomplish them. The new reality of AI tools making it easier to work remotely and complete tasks faster has also changed how companies operate. Venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya recently said that one can start a company with just a few people now since AI tools have made it more accessible to achieve MVP (minimum viable product).

In conclusion, AI tools like ChatGPT are making it easier for remote workers to take on multiple jobs and complete tasks faster. This has changed how companies operate, and employers must learn to adapt to the new reality of AI tools and remote work.
