Google expands Deep Research capabilities for Gemini on Android
Google has introduced an exciting update to its Deep Research tool for the Gemini app on Android. This enhancement is now accessible to all Gemini Advanced users on both Android and iOS platforms. Previously exclusive to the web version, this feature empowers users to craft comprehensive reports swiftly.

Enhanced Mobile Experience
Deep Research functionality is now seamlessly integrated into the Gemini mobile app for Android and iOS, catering specifically to Gemini Advanced users. To leverage this tool, users simply need to opt for the "1.5 Pro with Deep Research" selection from the drop-down menu. Subsequently, input your query, and the tool will promptly generate a preliminary report outline. Users have the flexibility to refine this outline or commence the research process by clicking on "start research," prompting Gemini to collate data from the internet.
Efficiency and Accessibility
According to Google, the report generation typically ranges from 5 to 10 minutes. However, for more intricate queries, the process may extend further. Users are informed via notification once the report is complete, even if they exit the chat interface during the interim.

Varied User Feedback
Initial feedback on this new feature has been diverse. While some users commend its utility for straightforward topics, others express reservations regarding its efficacy for complex inquiries such as stock market analysis. It is evident that the tool's performance may vary based on the nature of the query.
It is pertinent to note that Google is not the sole provider of such a tool in the market. OpenAI recently unveiled its Deep Research feature, leveraging the OpenAI o3 model. This offering pledges to furnish a comprehensive report within a timeframe of 30 minutes.
