Recently, researchers from Penn Engineering, Haverford College, and Penn State made a breakthrough at the 2024 Association of Computing Machinery Conference on Fairness, Accountability, and Transparency (ACM FAccT). They presented a paper that sheds light on a critical issue in the domain of scriptwriting using OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

Their study uncovered a significant drawback: the content moderation implemented by ChatGPT is so stringent that even scripts with PG ratings are subjected to censorship. This excessive censorship has the potential to stifle artistic expression and creativity in scriptwriting.
