Gemini 1.5 Flash becomes 50% faster
Last month, the free Gemini tier was upgraded to Flash version 1.5, which is now 50% faster in processing responses. This significant improvement is due to latency enhancements implemented by Google recently.
The context window has been increased to 32k tokens from the previous 8k, allowing Gemini to handle and retain a larger amount of textual information in memory when interacting with user requests.
Gemini 1.5 Flash Upgrade
Gemini 1.5 Flash was officially announced to developers in May, coinciding with the upgrade of Gemini Advanced to 1.5 Pro.
Expansion of Google Tasks
Simultaneously, the Google Tasks extension is now extending its reach beyond the Pixel 9 series and is already accessible on devices such as the Pixel 8, although availability to all users remains limited. One notable new feature is the capability to capture photos of checklists and incorporate them into Google Tasks.

Google has introduced a new @OpenStax extension for Gemini, offering answers sourced from Rice University's OpenStax educational resources. Furthermore, Gemini now has the ability to generate interactive practice tests on various subjects, enhancing the platform's educational functionalities.
