Rebuilding Hope: Altadena Community Schools After Eaton Fire

Eaton Fire: Altadena community schools

Amid the devastating fires in ALTADENA, Calif., thousands of acres have burned, homes destroyed, and in its crosshairs, students in the Altadena community have lost their schools. Pasadena Rosebud Academy hopes to rebuild and have a new space to bring back students into the classroom, but for now, the school will switch to virtual learning early next week.

Shawn Brown, the founder and executive director of the public charter school, told Spectrum News that despite losing her own home, she is focused on getting students back in school. Brown said the school will remain in the community and that it is a community determined to rebuild.
