Peak Design has announced the release of its latest flagship tripod system, the Pro Tripod. This new offering is designed to cater to the needs of hybrid shooters and professionals, building upon the success of the previous Travel Tripod model.
The Pro Tripod features several enhancements, including increased stability, extended height, and improved usability, all while maintaining a compact and travel-friendly form factor. The new tripod comes in three variants: Pro Lite, Pro, and Pro Tall, each offering unique benefits to suit different shooting requirements and portability preferences.
Key Features of the Pro Tripod:
- Upgraded CNC-machined hub for enhanced performance

- Thicker leg tubes for increased load capacity (up to 40 lbs)
- Increased maximum deployment height (up to 197.4 cm for the Pro Tall version)
One of the standout features of the Pro Tripod is the new Pro Ball Head, which now includes integrated fluid panning and 15 degrees of tilt, even when the center column is fully stowed. The redesigned ARCA-compatible quick-lock system allows for quicker and more secure camera mounting, while the optional Tilt Mod accessory transforms the head into a pan-and-tilt system, perfect for video creators on the move.
Additional upgrades include smoother and faster leg cams, a stowable hex tool and mobile mount inside the center column, and ergonomic, CNC-machined leg angle adjusters. The Pro Tripod also comes with a weatherproof padded carry sleeve with an adjustable strap for added convenience.

Peak Design collaborated with renowned adventure photographer and filmmaker Jimmy Chin during the development process of the Pro Tripod. Chin's expertise and real-world feedback helped shape the durability and usability enhancements of the tripod, ensuring its performance in demanding environments.
