OpenAI's Sora Now Available Via ChatGPT Plus And Pro - Lowyat ...
OpenAI's Sora video generation model is now accessible to users on the ChatGPT Plus or Pro subscription. The highly anticipated tool is currently available in the US and select countries, including Malaysia. However, it is not accessible in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and the European Economic Area.
Currently, users can only access the video generation tool through its dedicated website. The platform offers a video feed showcasing creations by other users and allows users to generate their own content through text prompts. Users can also remix, re-cut, or blend existing videos into their projects by clicking on them to view the original prompts.
Accessing Sora
The version available to ChatGPT subscribers is Sora Turbo, an enhanced model compared to its preview in February. Despite being faster, it has its limitations, such as struggles with complex actions over long durations and unrealistic physics in generated videos.
Sora can generate videos up to 1080p resolution and 20 seconds in length in its initial release. ChatGPT Plus users can create up to 50 videos per month at 480p or fewer at 720p. On the other hand, Pro subscribers enjoy higher resolutions, longer durations, and ten times the usage limit.
Every generated video includes a visible watermark and C2PA metadata for identification. OpenAI has implemented strict measures to prevent the creation of harmful content like CSAM and sexual deepfakes. The company has also restricted uploads involving real individuals until it enhances its defenses against deepfakes.
Features and Usage
OpenAI currently only offers the Plus tier in Malaysia, priced at RM99.90 per month. The company plans to introduce customized pricing tiers for Sora in the upcoming year.
