According to Odaily, OpenAI has requested the dismissal of a federal lawsuit filed by Elon Musk, which accuses the company of harassment to promote his own AI startup, xAI. Musk initiated the lawsuit two months ago, alleging that OpenAI abandoned its founding mission of developing an open AI platform to benefit humanity, opting instead to maximize profits.
In a motion to dismiss filed on Tuesday in a California federal court, OpenAI described Musk's lawsuit as the latest in a series of increasingly aggressive actions aimed at harassing the company for his competitive advantage.
The company noted that Musk had initially supported its core goal of safely and beneficially developing general artificial intelligence.
