OpenAI's ChatGPT boasts highest visits among world's most popular AI tools

According to a report by the World Bank Group, US-based artificial intelligence (AI) firm OpenAI's ChatGPT, a generative chatbot, has recorded an impressive 2.3 billion website visits. The report, titled Who on Earth Is Using Generative AI, highlights the popularity of various AI tools, with a total of around 3 billion visits in March across 40 tools.

Top AI Tools Ranking

ChatGPT leads the pack with a remarkable 82.5% share of all AI tool website traffic. Following closely behind is Google's Gemini, formerly known as Bard, which garnered 133 million visits in the same period.

The list is dominated by chatbots, with the top seven positions occupied by these conversational AI tools. The remaining slots in the top 10 are taken by image-generative AI tools.

Key Players in the Top 10

In the top 10 rankings, Poe secures the third spot with 43.4 million visits, followed by Perplexity (40.2 million), Claude (32.3 million), and DeepAI (31.1 million). Among image-generative AI tools, Midjourney leads with 24.7 million website visits, trailed by Prezi (18 million) and Nightcafe (13.9 million).

Notably, while Nightcafe is based in Australia, the rest of the top 10 AI tools are headquartered in the US, as indicated in the report.
