OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Professional for Business Customers
OpenAI has recently announced the launch of its latest offering, ChatGPT Professional, specifically designed for business and enterprise customers. This comes just a few months after it released a waitlist for a potential paid tier version called ChatGPT Business. The company later announced ChatGPT Plus, which offered better response times, priority access to new features, and no downtime. However, it did not meet all the requirements that businesses may need from the platform.
ChatGPT Professional is designed to address some of these needs. OpenAI made this announcement in a recent blog post, stating, “We are also working on a new ChatGPT Business subscription for professionals who need more control over their data as well as enterprises seeking to manage their end users.”
One of the major concerns of businesses is data security and privacy. OpenAI is addressing this in their new offering by making ChatGPT Professional follow their API’s data usage policies. This means that end-users' data won't be used to train their models by default.
However, the exact pricing for ChatGPT Professional has not yet been disclosed. At present, ChatGPT Plus costs $20 per month or $22 for Australian users, as confirmed by a receipt seen by SmartCompany.
Along with the launch of ChatGPT Professional, OpenAI has also introduced a new privacy feature that allows users to turn off their chat history. This feature will disable OpenAI's ability to train its models from those prompts. OpenAI stated in the blog post, “We hope this provides an easier way to manage your data than our existing opt-out process. When chat history is disabled, we will retain new conversations for 30 days and review them only when needed to monitor for abuse before permanently deleting.”
