Informatica expands support for AI and Microsoft Fabric on Azure
Informatica Inc. has announced three new capabilities for Microsoft Corp.’s Azure cloud to facilitate the process of building, deploying, and activating artificial intelligence and analytical applications using trusted data.
The Gen AI Blueprint for Azure OpenAI offers a set of reference architectures and templates based on Informatica’s Intelligent Data Management Cloud platform and Azure Open AI services. Informatica Blueprints are free strategic guides or frameworks designed to assist organizations in developing and scaling data management applications, providing best practices, architecture recommendations, and deployment strategies for various use cases such as data integration, data governance, data quality, master data management, and cloud data warehousing.
The new Microsoft-specific generative AI blueprint components simplify the creation of generative AI applications and Microsoft Copilot experiences. They outline how organizations can integrate Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, and vector databases like Pinecone Systems Inc.’s vector database to expedite AI projects while upholding data integrity and governance. The blueprint offers contextualized prompts and responses based on standard business glossary terms, with embedded data quality controls to optimize retrieval-automated generation dataset selection.
Informatica Chief Executive Amit Walia emphasized the increasing importance of governance as generative AI applications transition into production. He noted that governance becomes a critical consideration as companies move from pilot phases to full-scale implementation, particularly as they seek to manage data access and ensure data integrity.
Open Table Iceberg Support for Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2
Informatica also introduced Open Table Iceberg Support for Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, which facilitates data migration and integration to ADLS Gen2 in Apache Iceberg format. This support enables users to leverage Iceberg’s high performance and cost-effectiveness in storing and accessing large-scale datasets for Microsoft Fabric and Power BI analytics workloads. Users can select the most suitable query engines for their specific use cases.
Enhanced SQL ELT for Microsoft Fabric
Enhanced SQL ELT for Microsoft Fabric provides no-code data pipeline definition and execution with in-database SQL-based processing. As a Microsoft design partner, Informatica's service allows organizations to consolidate and transform data directly within Microsoft Fabric’s data warehouse, facilitating data cleansing and preparation for analytics. SQL ELT helps customers validate data, enhance analytics efficiently within Microsoft Fabric, and derive insights from Microsoft PowerBI.
Informatica's latest updates offer significant enhancements for AI and Microsoft Fabric on Azure, empowering organizations to streamline their AI initiatives and data management processes.
