Three More Automakers Integrate ChatGPT Into Vehicles
Stellantis, the parent company of Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, and Ram, is reaching another significant milestone with the integration of ChatGPT into new cars from three of its prominent European automakers.
Models from Peugeot in France, Opel in Germany, and Vauxhall in the United Kingdom will now feature the AI-based tool on their SoundHound Chat AI voice assistance system. This integration expands the availability of ChatGPT to cars in 11 countries, including Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the U.K., with plans to cover 17 nations and 12 different languages by the end of July.
Driving the Future with ChatGPT
Stellantis continues to lead the way in automotive innovation, with its recent rollout of ChatGPT in partnership with SoundHound. This integration enables new Peugeot, Opel, and Vauxhall models to benefit from advanced AI technology, enhancing the overall in-car experience.
SoundHound, headquartered in Santa Clara, California, designed ChatAI to provide a wide range of functions, enabling drivers to navigate, make calls, and access real-time sports and weather updates with ease, all while keeping their focus on the road.
The collaboration between Stellantis and SoundHound marks a significant shift in the automotive sector, ushering in a new era of natural conversation and enhanced driver experiences.
The Evolution of Voice Assistance
Generative AI technology is rapidly gaining traction in the automotive industry, with major players like Volkswagen and Audi also incorporating ChatGPT into their vehicles. Volkswagen's decision to integrate ChatGPT across several models, including its ID electric vehicle lineup, sets the stage for a more interactive and user-friendly driving experience.
Audi quickly followed suit, leveraging the Chat Pro solution from Massachusetts-based software company, Cerence, to enhance its voice control system. This trend toward integrating advanced AI into voice assistance technology highlights a growing demand for seamless and intuitive in-car interactions.
As the automotive landscape continues to evolve, the integration of ChatGPT represents a significant step forward in redefining the way drivers engage with their vehicles.
