Law Professors Back Meta's Fair Use Bid in AI Copyright Lawsuit
Meta Platforms Inc.'s effort to defeat a copyright lawsuit over training its AI model received a boost from a group of law professors who argue Meta’s copying of books constitutes fair use.
Case law supports Meta’s argument that copying made in the course of creating new knowledge is transformative, four law professors wrote in a proposed amicus brief filed Monday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
