Meta AI starts rolling out to users in India across WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger
Meta has officially launched its AI chatbot, the Meta AI assistant, for users in India. This new AI assistant is now available on popular platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger, as well as through a dedicated website at Meta.AI.
Initially introduced more than two months ago, Meta AI was first rolled out in countries like Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. However, India was not included in the initial release, possibly due to the timing of the Lok Sabha elections.
Features of Meta AI
Meta AI is designed to provide users with various functionalities across different social media platforms:
- Users can access Meta AI for searches on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger.
- Meta AI can assist users in performing basic tasks such as writing emails, creating poems, summarizing text, translating languages, generating images, and creating GIFs directly within chat windows.
- The AI assistant offers real-time search results from Microsoft and Google, enabling users to obtain instant information on a wide range of topics.
Integration with Popular Apps
One of the key highlights of Meta AI is its seamless integration with widely-used applications like WhatsApp and Messenger. Users can leverage the AI assistant's capabilities without the need to switch to external platforms like ChatGPT or Gemini for AI assistance.
As Meta AI begins its rollout in India, some users may not immediately see the assistant available on their WhatsApp, Instagram, or Facebook accounts. Visiting the Meta AI website may also display a message stating that the service is not yet accessible in the country, indicating a phased deployment approach.
