Meta Launches AI Chatbots for Snoop Dogg, MrBeast, Tom Brady ...
Meta has introduced a groundbreaking initiative by transforming several celebrities and influencers into AI chatbots. The tech giant made this announcement during the Meta Connect 2023 conference, revealing strategic partnerships with various "cultural icons and influencers." These AI-powered chatbots are designed to have dedicated profiles on popular social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook. Among the personalities involved in this innovative venture are Snoop Dogg, Charli D’Amelio, MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson), Kendall Jenner, Tom Brady, Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade, and Paris Hilton.
Distinct Personalities in AI Chatbots
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg emphasized the company's objective to develop AI chatbots with unique personalities, opinions, and interests. The focus is not solely on answering queries but also on providing entertainment and facilitating connections with others. Presently, these celebrity chatbots communicate through text, with plans to incorporate voice capabilities in the near future.
The chatbots are powered by Meta AI, described as an advanced conversational assistant, accessible on WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. Meta has also announced its expansion to devices like the Quest 3 headset and Ray-Ban Meta smart-glasses. These AI assistants can offer real-time information through Meta's collaboration with Microsoft's Bing and generate photorealistic images based on user prompts.
Celebrity AI Chatbot Lineup
Each celebrity brings a distinctive character to their AI chatbot persona. For example, Charli D’Amelio embodies Coco, a dance enthusiast, while Tom Brady portrays Bru, a witty sports debater. The collaboration aims to create engaging interactions for users and fans alike.
Expanding Possibilities
Meta plans to introduce further AI chatbot characters, including personalities like Bear Grylls, Chloe Kim, and Josh Richards. Additionally, the company intends to make AI chatbots accessible for businesses and creators, providing tools for individuals to develop their custom AI experiences.
Beyond chatbots, Meta is introducing AI-generated stickers for WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, and Facebook Stories. These stickers, created through technology from Llama 2 and Emu, offer unique visual representations based on textual cues in a matter of seconds.
Enhanced Image Editing Features
Instagram is set to debut new AI image-editing features like "restyle" and "backdrop." These tools enable users to apply various visual styles and alter backgrounds within their images, enhancing creative expression on the platform. Meta highlights the importance of transparency in indicating AI-generated content to users.
