Google Launches Pixel 8a at $499: Discover Features & Pre-Order Details
Google introduced the $499 Pixel 8a smartphone on Tuesday, May 7, expanding its generative AI capabilities to a broader audience. This new device incorporates many generative AI features found in the pricier Pixel 8 devices, including advanced photo and video editing functionalities.
The 6.1-inch Pixel 8a boasts features such as the Gemini generative AI chatbot, Circle to Search, Best Take, and more. Google also announced a forthcoming update that will introduce Gemini Nano, a streamlined version of the Gemini language model tailored for the Pixel 8a.

In October, Google initially unveiled many of the generative AI features now present in the Pixel 8a. Among these features, Magic Editor stands out, allowing users to manipulate images easily by removing objects or individuals and repositioning elements within the photo.
Circle to Search enables users to search for objects simply by circling them in an image, while Best Take automatically captures multiple photos to ensure everyone looks their best. Moreover, users can use Best Take to replace a person's face in a group photo or correct closed eyes.
Additional features like Magic Audio Eraser enable users to enhance audio quality by eliminating background noise from videos.
