AutoGPT Tutorial: How to Set Up Your Own AI-Bot in Under 30 Minutes
If you're looking for a powerful tool to improve your workflow, AutoGPT is worth checking out. The open-source Python application uses GPT-4 as its basis and can act autonomously without the need for the user to prompt every action. If you want to set up your own private AutoGPT, without any required coding skill, follow these easy steps:
Step 1: Download and Install Python and Visual Studio Code
Go to the Python website and download the version for your operating system, then install it. After that, go to Visual Studio Code and download the version for your operating system, and install it as well.
Step 2: Download AutoGPT Code and API Keys
Go to GitHub for the code and download it as a zip file (press the green button). Then extract it, open Visual Studio Code, and open the extracted folder with Visual Studio Code. Get your OpenAI API keys from here. Go to .env.template and insert your OpenAI API key in the destined field. Press F2 or right-click on the .env.template and rename it to .env
Step 3: Install Dependencies
Go to the “terminal” tab in Visual Studio Code and let’s install our dependencies.
Step 4: Run the Script
Now we can run the script and we’re good to go. Name your AutoGPT, provide a goal and enjoy your private assistant!
