Google announces that it will upgrade Google Assistant on smartphones
Google has recently declared that it will enhance its voice assistant for smartphones, Google Assistant, by introducing an AI assistant named Gemini.

Google revealed that millions of users have already transitioned from Google Assistant to Gemini, benefiting from new AI-powered features in their daily routines. In the upcoming months, mobile device users will be upgraded from Google Assistant to Gemini.
However, by the second half of 2025, the traditional Google Assistant will no longer be accessible on most mobile devices, and new app downloads from mobile stores will cease. Google Assistant will persist on smartphones running Android 9 or earlier with less than 2GB of RAM, as per a report by 9to5Google.
Future Plans for Gemini
Google intends to upgrade Google Assistant to Gemini on various devices interconnected with smartphones, such as tablets, cars, headphones, and watches. Moreover, they plan to introduce new experiences using Gemini for home devices like speakers, displays, and TVs.

Since its launch in 2024, access to Gemini has expanded significantly, available in over 40 languages and 200 countries.
