Google unveils Gemini 2.5 pro: A new AI rival to ChatGPT?
Google has introduced Gemini 2.5 Pro, its most powerful AI model to date, boasting enhanced reasoning, coding, and multimodal capabilities. The experimental version of 2.5 Pro has debuted at the top of the LMArena leaderboard, demonstrating state-of-the-art performance in human preference evaluations.
Gemini 2.5 Pro significantly improves on previous iterations, excelling in complex problem-solving, mathematical reasoning, and coding. It leads benchmarks like GPQA and AIME 2025 in math and science, and scores 18.8% on Humanity’s Last Exam, a dataset testing advanced reasoning skills. In coding, it achieves 63.8% on SWE-Bench Verified, excelling at code transformation and application development.
A standout feature of Gemini 2.5 Pro is its 1 million-token context window, allowing it to process vast amounts of data across text, audio, images, video, and code repositories—with an upgrade to 2 million tokens expected soon. The model is now available in Google AI Studio and the Gemini app for Gemini Advanced users, with Vertex AI integration coming soon. Google will announce pricing in the coming weeks for those looking to deploy Gemini 2.5 Pro at scale.
