Instagram Boss Shows How You Can Turn Yourself Into A Puppet with AI Video Editing Feature
Meta Platforms, Inc. (NASDAQ: META) is set to launch a new AI video editing feature in 2025. The Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, recently teased this upcoming tool by sharing a video showcasing its capabilities.
Powered by Meta’s Movie Gen AI, this tool will enable users to make detailed video adjustments with simple text prompts, making video transformations accessible to creators without advanced editing skills.
The teaser video demonstrates the AI's ability to alter Mosseri's appearance and background, even turning him into a felt puppet. Subtle edits, such as adding accessories like a gold chain, can be seamlessly integrated without distortion.
OpenAI's Sora video model, while initially impressive in previews, failed to meet expectations upon its public release.
It remains to be seen if Instagram's AI video editing tools will live up to their promise when they are officially launched. Meta first introduced its Movie Gen AI video generator in October, with Instagram being the first platform set to integrate this innovative text-to-video model.
On the other hand, Adobe Inc. (NASDAQ: ADBE) unveiled its own generative AI video capabilities through the Adobe Firefly Video Model in September 2024.
