India Becomes Meta AI's Largest Market, Reveals CFO Susan Li
Facebook parent Meta's artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot has found its largest market in India, revealed Susan Li, the company’s CFO.
Overview
What Happened: Meta’s CFO Susan Li disclosed during the company’s earnings conference call that India has emerged as the largest user base for Meta AI, Moneycontrol reported. However, Li refrained from sharing any specific numbers or usage metrics.
The AI chatbot was introduced in India, Meta’s largest market with over a billion subscribers across its apps, in June 2024. The chatbot is now accessible in 22 countries, supporting seven new languages including Hindi and Hinglish.
Recent Developments
In the previous month, Meta unveiled Llama 3.1, the most recent version of its open-source large language model. The company’s ambition is to make Meta AI the most widely used AI assistant by the end of the year, as stated by Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg.
Zuckerberg also underscored the practical and creative applications of Meta AI. The company recently launched AI Studio, a platform that enables users to develop AI agents for interaction across Meta’s apps. This feature is anticipated to be particularly advantageous for creators and businesses on the platform.
