Google's Gemini App Now Turns Deep Research Into AI-Powered Podcasts
Google’s Gemini app now includes Audio Overviews for Deep Research, allowing users to turn in-depth AI-generated reports into podcast-style conversations between two AI hosts. Since launching Audio Overviews in its AI note-taking app NotebookLM last September, Google has continued to expand the feature.
Users can now interact with and guide the AI hosts. Earlier this week, Google made Audio Overviews available in the Gemini app for both free users and Advanced subscribers, letting them convert slides and documents into AI-generated discussions. This feature is particularly useful for Deep Research, Google’s advanced AI tool that scans the web to generate comprehensive reports on a given topic. Once Gemini finishes compiling the research, users can select the new “Generate Audio Overview” option to hear a podcast-style summary of the findings.
